Facility Overview


Bluewater Gas Storage's facilities (Bluewater) are located in St.Clair county Michigan and are comprised of two separate Niagaran reef reservoirs, a pipeline header system of over 35 miles and six interconnects. The total combined working capacity is 26 BCF with a combined maximum peak withdrawal of 826,000 Mcf/day and a combined maximum injection of 508,000 Mcf/day.
As of December 1, 2006, Bluewater is regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) under section 7 of the Natural Gas Act with market based rates. A copy of our approved tarriff is available on our Informational Posting site.
Bluewater currently has operating interconnects with Great Lakes Gas Transmission, Union Gas Limited, Vector Pipeline, Michigan Consolidated Gas Company (Michcon), Consumers Energy Company and ANR Pipeline Company . Additionally, Bluewater has a waiver of the FERC’s “shipper must hold title” policy, which allows us to bundle off-system capacity and offer seamless storage storage to other market centers such as Chicago or Dawn. Bluewater commenced commercial operations in early May 2004 and offers the following services:

· No-Notice Storage Service
· Firm Parking and Loan Service
· Interruptible Storage Service
· Interruptible Parking, Loan and Wheeling Service
· Interruptible Hourly Balancing Service
